Discover a Different Side of the Yarra Valley

Held every June and October, Nillumbik Hills Open Cellars is a much-loved regional wine event celebrating the small, family-run wineries of the Nillumbik Hills, on the quieter western side of the Yarra Valley. In 2026, the event celebrates its 25th year.

Across 20–21 June 2026, cellar doors open throughout the region, inviting visitors to slow down and explore a lesser-known side of the Yarra Valley. Along the way, enjoy premium local wines, seasonal food, live music, crackling fires and the relaxed charm of winter in wine country.

What Makes Open Cellars Different?

Forget the crowds and mass wine tourism experiences.

Open Cellars offers something increasingly rare: independent wineries, passionate owners and winemakers pouring their own wines.

In the Nillumbik Hills you don’t just taste the wines. You meet the people behind them, hear the stories behind each vintage, and experience cellar doors built on genuine connection.

Small in scale but rich in character, these are cellar doors where the welcome is personal, the stories are authentic, and the wines reflect the place they come from.

A Winter Tradition Worth Exploring
