Open Cellars WINTER
17th and 18th June 2017
We invite you to come out to the friendly family-owned little wineries in the Artisan Hills region for a weekend of great wine and food!
The WINTER event this year will be held Saturday 17th – Sunday 18th June, between 11.00am – 5.00pm.
The wineries are nestled among the green, rolling hills of this pretty part of the world, among country Australian hamlets with typical Aussie names like Kangaroo Ground, Smiths Gully, Arthurs Creek, Yarrambat and Watsons Creek – the place oozes with history and charm. To get to the Artisan Hills region (only 45 minutes from the CBD or the Melbourne airport) head north of Melbourne, heading to Eltham or Greensborough – from there just follow the map (below).
You can make a weekend of it and stay at one of the cosy BnB’s found on the Artisan Hills website. How about starting out on Saturday morning with a visit to the famous St Andrews country market? Then design your own wine trail, and progress from winery to winery, making sure to enjoy the views and some tasty country fare for lunch at the wineries.
Wine tastings at all the wineries are free, and there are no entry fees – just rock up, settle in by the fire, and start sipping wine! Some offer lunch, and many offer live music – just follow the clues on the Wine Trail brochure, here: Open Cellars 2017 Winter-wineries

(**Sorry, but we have just found out that the Omaru Alpaca Farm will not be open on Sunday as expected, as the buildings are being renovated and the site is not safe at present for children and visitors – apologies to those who were planning to include the Alpaca Farm in their wine tour**)
