Open Cellars Events
“Open Cellars” is an event held twice a year, on the third weekend of every June (Winter) and October (Spring). This is an opportunity to travel between the small boutique wineries in the western hills of the Yarra Valley (Nillumbik Shire district) and meet the winemakers in their Cellar Doors .
You will be invited to taste their current release wines and a few special vintage wines that they might select. Several of the wineries also offer lunch and live music throughout the weekend.
Visit these family-owned wineries - each with an individual style - where the grapes are hand-picked and processed on site in the traditional style. This is a chance to sample wines at cellar doors not always open to the public.

The wineries of the Nillumbik Shire are classified as Yarra Valley wineries and produce some outstanding cool-climate wines. Visit wineries is rural areas including Cottles Bridge, Kangaroo Ground, Panton Hill, Smiths Gully, St Andrews and Arthurs Creek, and more. This region is full of charm and history while producing superb wines such as Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Cabernet Sauvignon.
